Hydrophilic rollers for use in alcohol-free dampening systems.
Isopropyl alcohol (IPA), the suggested additive in most dampening systems, has become the object of strict environmental restrictions due to the volatile nature of the material.
Aside from everything else, isopropyl alcohol in vapour form is an irritant. The most recent trend involves the gradual removal of this material from dampening solutions. One of the properties of isopropyl alcohol is that it achieves uniform distribution and transfer of water on the rubber dampening rollers. The removal of alcohol from dampening solutions has also brought about significant changes in the rubber covering mixtures of rollers. Zero Alcohol rubber mixtures achieve uniform transfer of the dampening solution, without the use of isopropyl alcohol.
V. Kivotopoulos S.A. uses Zero Alcohol quality for lining rollers with materials exhibiting controlled hydrophilic properties that are compatible with alcohol-free dampening solutions.
V. Kivotopoulos S.A. manufactures rollers under the supervision of a quality assurance system which has been certified by an external accreditation body according to EN ISO 9001:2000 standard.
